Prof. Peter JONKERS

Born in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, in 1954, he studied Philosophy at the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium.

Vice-Dean for Research at the Tilburg School of Catholic Theology at Tilburg University, Netherlands, he is Professor of Systematic Philosophy, Philosophy of Culture and Metaphysics.

In 2004, he received investiture to the Equestrian Order of St. Gregory the Great by the Holy Father.

He publishes articles on German idealism, metaphysics, and philosophy of religion. Some of the recent publications are:Hegel-Lexikon (2006); Justifying Sacrifice (2008); Religious Truth in a Globalising World (2009); Can Freedom of Religion Replace the Virtue of Tolerance? (2010).

He is a member of the advisory board of the German Accreditation Agency for Canonical Degrees (AKAST).
