Dr. Caty DUYKAERTS

Vice-President of ENQA and Head of the Executive Unit of the Agency for the Evaluation of the Quality of Higher Education in the French Community of Belgium (AEQES), operating in Brussels, Belgium.

Since October 2008 Caty has been responsible for the implementation of external evaluation procedures in the Belgian French-speaking higher education system (universities, university colleges, art schools and conservatories and adult education centres).

She is very involved in the design and development of European quality assurance procedures in a permanent dialogue with stakeholders and in the development of the agency’s internal quality assurance system. The AEQES was first examined in 2011, then in 2016 and has been registered with EQAR since 2012.

Since October 2012, when she was elected member of the Board of Directors of ENQA (Vice President of ENQA since October 2015), Caty contributes to the mission of the Council (see https://www.enqa.eu/about-enqa/): technical support for the current HAQAA initiative (harmonization of quality certification and accreditation of African higher education), or the annual organization of EQAF conferences with other organizations belonging to the E4 (ENQA, EUA, EURASHE, ESU), etc.

In 2014, AEQES co-founded with the Swiss QA agency (AAQ) and the two French ones (HCERES and CTI), the French-speaking network for quality assurance for higher education. The so-called FrAQ-Sup network translated the 2015 ESG into French and organizes an international conference on quality issues every year.

A professional translator and with a master’s degree in management (Brussels Solvay Business School), she was a language teacher for 21 years, then director of a large adult education and training center in Brussels.
