P. Andrzej S. Wodka, C.Ss.R.

Born in Poland in 1959. In 1978 he joined the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer, where he was ordained as a priest in 1985. Having completed further studies and a licentiate in Sacred Scripture at the Pontifical Biblical Institute (Biblicum), he worked as a teacher, trainer and vocational Redemptorist pastor in Poland. He subsequently earned a doctoral degree in Biblical Theology at the Pontifical Gregorian University, and in 1997 he was employed by the Alphonsian Academy – Higher Institute of Moral Theology at the Pontifical Lateran University, where he has been a full professor of Biblical Ethics since 2015.
Since 2013 he has been the President of the Alphonsian Academy and worked with the Conference of Rectors of the Roman Pontifical Universities (CRUPR) in the role of Secretary. Between 2014 and 2018 he was also Vice President and subsequently President of the Committee of Presidents and Deans of the Roman Pontifical Faculties of Theology. From 2015-2018 he was Vice President of the Roman Union of Ecclesiastical Libraries (URBE). Since 2017 he has been among the experts of the Holy See’s Agency for the Evaluation and Promotion of Quality in Ecclesiastical Universities and Faculties (AVEPRO).
On 5 June 2018 he was appointed by Pope Francis as President of the Agency for the Evaluation and Promotion of Quality in Ecclesiastical Universities and Faculties – AVEPRO, for the five-year period 2018-2023.
