Abbé Léonard SANTEDI KINKUPU is a professor and priest of the Archdiocese of Kinshasa.

He is currently Rector of the Catholic University of Congo. He holds a doctorate in theology from the Institut Catholique de Paris and a doctorate in the history of religions and religious anthropology from the University of Paris IV – Sorbonne.

Ordained a priest in 1985, he held various posts, particularly in the formation houses of the Archdiocese of Kinshasa, before being appointed Secretary of the Episcopal Commission for the Doctrine of the Faith (CEDF) at the National Episcopal Conference of Congo (CENCO) and Dean of the Faculty of Theology at the Catholic University of Congo (UCC) (formerly the Catholic Faculty of Kinshasa). From 2003 to 2004, he was a visiting professor at the Faculty of Theology of the Catholic University of Leuven (Belgium). Abbé Léonard SANTEDI was a member of the International Theological Commission (Rome) from 2004 to 2014.

He is a professor at the Faculty of Theology of the UCC and at various theological institutions in his country. A visiting professor at the Faculty of Theology of the Institut Catholique de Paris (doctoral level) since 2012, he is also scientific secretary of the Association of African Theologians (ATA).

He is a member of the editorial board of several journals and the author of numerous articles published in various academic journals and of several books.
