Prof. Emilio MARIN

Full Professor of Roman Archaeology and Christian Archaeology and Epigraphy at the University of Split.

He has held numerous posts, including: Vice-Rector responsible for international cooperation at the Croatian Catholic University of Zagreb.

Member of the Institut de France (Institut de France, Académie des Inscriptions et Belles-Lettres).

Ambassador Emeritus of Croatia to the Holy See (2004–2011) and to the Sovereign Military Order of Malta (2005–2011).

Corresponding Member of the Pontifical Roman Academy of Archaeology (since 1996).

Former Director of the Archaeological Museum of Split (1988–2004).

Visiting fellow at All Souls College, Oxford.

He was awarded an honorary doctorate by the University of Paris 12.

He received the Grand Prix for research in the historical and philological disciplines of Dalmatia and the equivalent national award from the Croatian Parliament.
